CURRENT Broadband is an “always on,” high speed Internet access service that offers high-speed data and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services to residential and small business customers. Broadband over Power Line (BPL) technology uses the existing electric wires to provide symmetric digital communication services at multi-megabit data rates to enable services such as high-speed Internet access, Voice over IP (VoIP), video, and in-home networking. CURRENT Broadband customers self install their broadband access by simply plugging in a commercially available broadband powerline modem. Existing electric wiring gives them connectivity up to 3Mbps from any electrical outlet in their home. CURRENT Broadband service provides the same high speed connection speeds when sending and receiving information and allows multiple computers inside a home or business to access the Internet simultaneously.

• Convenient — Installing CURRENT Broadband could not be easier – customers simply plug in a power modem into their existing outlets.  Unlike with other high-speed Internet services, setting up CURRENT Broadband requires no new software, no adjustments to the customer’s computer, and no appointments with an installation expert.  In addition, the existing electrical wiring in the customer’s home or office acts as a built-in data network, providing connectivity from virtually any electrical outlet and supporting multiple computers simultaneously.
