Manager, Product Support Engineers

Position Summary
Manager of the Product Support Engineers is responsible for leading the technical support of market execution for new field trials and future market builds and launches.  The PSE team is the lead technical interface for the utility customer and CURRENT regional office, supporting product and services introduction, implementation and troubleshooting.  The group will be responsible for coordinating tasks and activities with the internal cross-functional teams for the successful product and service launches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage remote team of Product Support Engineers providing day to day management aligned to account and corporate objectives.
  • Provide pre-sales technical support to Business Development including technical solution evaluation, site evaluation and product availability.
  • Responsible for Utility Product Approval Process including development of packages with internal team, Utility review evaluation process and implementation of standards to support deployment.
  • Develop and manage Smart-Grid product support process for Utility customers including alignment of internal resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Assist with BPL product development including customer requirements to internal cross-functional team for product development, assist in the development of utility customer and regional office documentation for products and support new product launches in a market and on-going product support.
  • Troubleshooting complex customer issues to provide root cause analysis and potential workarounds (including but not limited to in-home troubleshooting as required).
  • Manage the development of market network assessments, development and execution of remediation plans, and implementation of new technical solutions.
  • Support ongoing training and support to Utility Customers, Field Operations and Network Operations teams.

  • Candidate must be self-motivated and able to take assignments and drive to completion
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively work with all levels within an organization
  • Ability to develop relationships with internal and external resources including remote locations
  • Ability to manage remote team resources
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work within a dynamic environment and effect productive and timely results
  • Candidate must be willing to travel

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in sciences, or technical field and/or equivalent experience
  • Preferred electrical engineering or engineering degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Preferred experience working with Utilities
  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience required
  • Minimum 3 years management experience required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise remote Product Support Engineering Team
